Simple Health

Birth control with convenience

*Free with Insurance

Simple Health was originally a contact lens delivery service, so there's that.

  • Transparency

They're hard to get in touch with - there's no live-chat option available and Simple Health doesn't offer video visits.

  • Convenience

We've heard from other reviews online that their customer service is largely inaccessible.

  • Choice

Simple Health can prescribe you the pill, the patch or the ring.

  • Accessibility

Birth control costs are competitive with other affordable services and Simple Health is available to patients in 27 states

After making the hard pivot from contacts to birth control, Simple Health is doing just an okay job. The company's pricing ($15/month without insurance) and availability (in 27 states) are competitive with other services we liked and tested, but in our own testing and through scouring other reviews online we found that their customer service is pretty bad.

Pros

  • Pills start at $15/pack without insurance

  • Packages are sent in a discreet envelope or box with no images or logos

  • The company prescribes emergency contraception (Plan B)

  • Yearlong unlimited messaging with a doctor is included in the $20 consultation fee

  • Simple Health is transgender and nonbinary friendly, asking both your sex assigned at birth and current gender identity and pronouns

  • Simple Health can prescribe you the pill, the patch or the ring

Cons

  • Simple Health's initial consultation fee is $20, which gives you a year of unlimited access to the doctor who prescribed your birth control. However, know that there are other companies that offer this consultation at a cheaper price

  • There's no live-chat option available and Simple Health doesn't offer video visits

  • Their customer service isn't great

Tips

  • Once you create an account (but don't order birth control), they'll send you a follow-up email two weeks later waiving your consultation fee

Do they take health insurance?

Where can they prescribe birth control?

Is there direct access to a healthcare professional?

honestly it was great. so easy from start to finish. it was way easier and cheaper (and less invasive) than going to a doctor to get a prescription for medicine i’ve been on for 10 years. the only con i would say was more mental- signing up for this service was new to me and i was nervous the whole time it was a scam because it was too good to be true.
